The districts rising beside AlMasjid AlHaram are built for walking: plazas, arcades, terraces stepping toward the Haram. QAF exists for the distance between where transit stops and where a guest is going — the forecourt, the plaza, the shaded lane. Too short for a bus. Too far to walk with dignity when it is 45 degrees.
The place
King Salman Gate is the largest development ever undertaken beside AlMasjid AlHaram: up to twelve million square metres of a new city quarter, designed for those who walk. Its buildings step and slope toward the Haram; its plazas are for prayer; its edges connect to transit. QAF is designed for the part of it that cannot be walked.

A fleet is only as good as the day it is unavailable. QAF supplies the charging, the parts, the training and the people to keep that day from happening — with a 95 % availability target written into the agreement.
